Touring bicycles go everywhere and are known as being all-purpose bicycles. Usually featuring dropped handlebars for multiple hand positions and huge wide range gearing (up to around 27speed), these bikes also have massive luggage carrying abilities with rack and mudguard placements. Some touring bicycles even come with front and rear racks as well as mudguards. The Dawes Galaxy is an excellent example of a good touring bike.
